Testimonial (O) 13 years old.

We had already noted the success (O) had with identifying colours so we tried a new experiment with a pack of standard playing cards.

He held the pack of 52 cards face down and simply had to predict the colour (red or black).
The experiment started with a warm up of 10 cards. He got 4 right and 6 wrong!

In the beginning he really tried and took quite a bit of time before making his decision. Then he seemed to relax more and simply said the first thing that came into his head, It became obvious that his success rate improved dramatically with the new approach and he ended up being able to predict the colours almost perfectly.

The results of the main experiment were 32 correct out of 42 cards. Using the mathematics of the binomial distribution the probability of scoring greater than 31 is approximately 1 chance in 2000, which is highly significant.

Putting together this and the previous investigation with coloured books, the overall probability, based on simply guessing, is greater than a million to one against!
